Crosshairs Cycling was started in early 2012 by Bill Schieken. Bill is well known for all the great content, t-shirts and swag he creates under CXHairs.com. Knowing that his first and only love is ‘cross Bill started Crosshairs Cycling and hand picked a few people to come on board. What Bill didn’t know is that there were folks out there who liked what he did so much online they wanted to be a part of it in the racing world as well.
By July of 2012 Crosshairs Cycling was fully licensed by USA Cycling and had a host of sponsors from title to supporting. We have evolved into Crosshairs Cycling p/b Bike Doctor of Waldorf and continue to enjoy cycling one ride, race and hand up at a time. We are co-organizers (along with our friends DCMTB) of the only cyclocross race in Washington, DC, DCCX at the Armed Forces Retirement Home; DCCX is now a two day UCI C2 event with over 500 racers a day participating. We also organize a winter parking garage crit series Wednesday Nights Spins in conjunction with the Crystal City BID.
You can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and our outpost here the internet: CrosshairsCycling.com.
What’s Crosshairs Cycling all about?
First and foremost we are a Cyclocross team. If you are one of us you are racing ‘cross under the Crosshairs Cycling flag. Whether you are aiming for the holeshot or taking hand ups off the lead lap as long as you race clean and hard we are down.
How do I apply for membership?
We don’t have membership application process and we don’t have an open enrollment period. Crosshairs Cycling is pretty happy with the size of the team and if we decide to offer somebody spot – we let them know. But, come hang out at races, have a beer, a cup of coffee, ride with us and you never know what may happen.
